Winch drives
SEC Groningen mooring winch
- Combine advantages of both electric and hydraulic winch
- Time saving installation procedure
- Stepless control of speed and pull
- Self tensioning
SEC Groningen developed the combined electric-hydraulic winch some thirty years ago, combining the advantages of electric and hydraulic winches in one compact design. The winch gear is driven by a variable hydraulic motor, which enables stepless control of speed and pull of the chain wheel or drum. As the incorporated pump is powered by an electric motor mounted to the outside of the winch, there is no need to have hydraulic piping from a separate power pack to the winch. This ensures that the installation is very simple.
Recognising that there may still be reasons to use conventional electric or hydraulic winches, SEC Groningen can also provide winches based upon one of these two principles.
